UHSHL Match Play
The following walks you through how a Match is played between two schools, each with 5 players..
• Each player competes in 3 games to 21 points called a "Round."
• Scoring is Count-All method to 15 points and Cancelation method from 15 to 21 points.
• The player who wins 2 out of 3 games earns a Match Point for their team.
• If a player wins all 3 games they are awarded a 1/2 bonus match point for their team.
• The team that wins 3 of the 5 rounds wins the Match (School-1 in the example below).
• All teams
with a full 5 player team at the Match earn 1 Match Team Point.
• The winning team is awarded 2 Match Victory Points.
• Match Points earned by each team at each Match count toward their Season Point Total and are used for seeding teams into the State Tournament Bracket.
•A team's Top-5 ranked players may change from Match to Match, depending on the
progress of other team members during team practices.
